1.0 General Information
1.1 Who is Michael Dunn?
I met Michael Thomas Dunn back at the 1998 Central Florida Film and
Video Festival. He was out promoting one of his early films, Midnight
Conflict. He really is a great film maker, his low budget films look
and seem like expensive Hollywood productions. He has been very busy --
mostly writing and acting. He does direct films occassionally and
has development documentaries, music videos, and several short films.
I noticed recently that he has been active (by searching the IMDb).
1.2 What does he look like?
He's not too tall, not too small. Actually he's about 5 foot 10.
He has blue eyes and dark brown hair. He has an average build, I'm
guessing he weighs about 150 pounds.
1.3 How old is he?
He was born on June 26, 1977 (info lifted from the IMDB). If anyone
can confirm this, please email me. That would currently make him 23
years old.
1.4 Is he single?
Rumor has it that he has remained a bachelor. Does anyone know his agent?
I'd like to post Contact Information in this FAQ! UPDATE: still unclear of his agent, but he can be contacted through an official web site at www.michaelthomasdunn.com (please don't send me any more requests for autographs, go to this site instead).
1.5 Anything else about him that's interesting?
Well, I found this bit of information out from a close friend of his.
He is quite a mix: Irish, German, Polish and Jewish. He also was a
high school athlete -- he ran 5k marathons and cross country races
and always finished in a top 3 position. He was a newspaper journalist in high school and continued until recently. He recently graduated
from the University of Central Florida (Class of 2000). He earned a degree in film. Another interesting tidbit, he hangs out with the guys who made the Blair Witch Project sometimes.
1.6 Does he have a nickname?
Actually, several nicknames for Michael have emerged. Many people call him MTD on the Yahoo! newsgroups. Also, he is known as WizKid and the O-Town Guerilla (O-Town is a nickname for Orlando, Florida / Guerilla is a term for a type of independent filmmaker).
2.0 Movies
2.1 So what movies has he been in?
Michael has starred in the Independent shorts (in chronological)
Holding On, Midnight Conflict, Out of Time and The Standoff.
UPDATE: It has been confirmed that he landed a role in the feature film Alone and Restless.
2.2 What is he up to now?
He has been rumored to be working on several projects (a TV pilot/series, an action movie and comedy have all been hinted). His current one, Alone and Restless is currently shooting throughout Florida.
2.3 Has he done anything else on films?
While studying at film school, Mike has taken crew positions in the past (mostly through internships). He worked with the lighting department on Mortal Kombat: Conquest and on
the Anthony Hopkins movie Instinct. He also did electrical work
on the Adam Sandler movie The Waterboy.
3.0 Television
3.1 Has he guest starred on any television shows?
He had a small role on the syndicated television show, The Cape.
Does anyone have a copy of this episode, this was before I knew
who he was. I did watch the show a few times, but don't remember
this episode.
3.2 Anything else?
He made a couple of public service announcements for Public Television in 1998-99. The topic was "buckle up for safety."
